WSOP Update: Event #s 42 and 43
Event #42, the $2,500 Omaha/Stud Hi/Low event, ended recently with Oleksii Kovalchuk taking home the bracelet and over $220,000 for the win. Kovalchuk faced a final table that included ESPN WSOP commentator Norman Chad. Chad exited the event in eighth. Jeff Lisandro entered the last day of the event as the chip leader, but fell short of the final table, at 10th place.
Event #43, yet another $1,500 NLHE event, was won by Henry Lu. Lu took home over $650,000 and his first WSOP bracelet. Lu’s win came after an amazing comeback. At one point on the final day of action, he was down to merely two big blinds. It’s just a reminder that “a chip and a chair” is not just a saying, its reality. Of course, hitting a set with QQ against KK doesn’t hurt.
